YANGON, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar celebrated the 103rd anniversary of the International Cooperative Day at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday, state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported.
During the event, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said the Cooperative Department sets its visions, missions, policies, procedures and nine action plans to promote the socioeconomic status of the people, the report said.
The department supports agriculture by providing quality seeds, agrochemicals, educational programs, market connections, and arrangements to purchase animal feed, it said.
The minister urged the attendees to follow the theme "Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World," the report said. ■
